Getting Organized

Pochette-Color-Block-Orange-Emmanuelle Milani

if you’re like me who tend to collect bits and pieces of paper, magazine cut out, a funny comic strip, tickets to museums, bus tickets, receipts, business cards and notes… in my bag… then a pochette like this would be really useful. don’t you think?

Wild Paper

handmade-paper1

On my last trip to my country, I got reconnected with one partner indigenous community.  And now, you will find their handmade paper in the shop. Yes, they’re wild! Made from wild grass, locally called cogon and pulp from wild banana plants found around this village.

The textures are just wonderful. I’ve been thinking of making bowls and lamps with these! Or more origami containers! (Maybe you’ll find some soon in the Wild&Community Co. Shop.) What would you use them for?

Parallel Roads

Last year, I started creating with some of the textiles that I offer here on The Textîles Co for another brand. For me, it was another way of finding new markets for my community partners’ work. I am pursuing it this year and will be taking the parallel road of offering products ready for use but now through my own brand and soon to open shop, Wild & Community Co. (WCC) The name? Well, most of the products will be made from materials gathered from the wild, the forests and / or are made by community producers, hence the name. WCC is still based on the same principles of the Textiles Co., ethical and ecological. I hope that you will continue to support me on this. Give me some likes if you do!
